Problem gambling rarely announces itself. It builds. These questions are a fair self-check — answer them honestly.
The self-check
Do you bet more than you planned, or with money meant for essentials?
Do you chase losses — betting again to win back what's gone?
Do you hide your betting, or the amounts, from family?
Have you borrowed money to bet?
Does a losing day change your mood, sleep, or temper?
Have you tried to cut down and not managed it?
One 'yes' is a signal to set limits. Several is a reason to take a break and talk to someone.
For a deeper self-assessment, the Gamblers Anonymous 20-question quiz and the CAGE questionnaire are widely used and recognised — ask support and we'll point you to them.
